GEITA Gold Mining Limited (GGML) has reaffirmed that the health and safety of its workers will remain its top priority, after grabbing 11 prestigious awards to emerge an overall winner at the 2025 Occupational Safety and Health Authority (OSHA) exhibition that took place recently in Singida.
Speaking after GGML scooped more awards than any other organization, GGML Safety Manager Isack Senya expressed pride in the company’s consistent leadership in workplace safety.
“This victory did not happen by chance. It is the result of major investments we have made in safeguarding health and safety by integrating various technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI) across all our work areas,” said Senya.
“Our footprint as a responsible mining company for the past 25 years is demonstrated through our exemplary safety record - for four consecutive years since 2019, GGML has also held the global safety award and maintained that record locally in OSHA exhibitions here in Tanzania,” he added.
GGML was presented with the overall winner’s trophy at the event graced by Hon. Ridhiwani Jakaya Kikwete, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (Labour, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disabilities), who commended them for maintaining their outstanding safety record.
During the trophy presentation, Hon. Ridhiwani Kikwete urged all companies and institutions across the country to make workplace safety a top priority, emphasizing its critical role in sustainable development and employee well-being.
