TANZANIA and the Czech Republic are poised to sign an agreement aimed at eliminating multi-taxation between the two countries, a move designed to create a more predictable tax environment and attract long-term investments.
This announcement was made in Dodoma yesterday during a meeting between Meshack Anyingisye, Commissioner for Budget at the Ministry of Finance and a delegation from Czech Republic government led by Ambassador Nicol Adamcova.
The meeting was also attended by Juma Mkabakuli, Assistant Commissioner for Policy at the Ministry of Finance who handles international tax matters.
The negotiations on double taxation agreement between Tanzania and Czech Republic were successfully completed in 2024, with all internal legal processes now finalized in both countries. The agreement is set to be signed, ratified, and implemented soon, paving the way for enhanced economic cooperation and investment opportunities between the two nations.
The agreement is expected to reduce the tax burden on investors operating between the two countries, making Tanzania a more attractive destination for Czech businesses looking to expand their presence in East Africa.
Czech and Tanzania are united by democratic values and the emphasis on respect for the international legal order. Both Czech and Tanzania have established honorary consulates.
