MOROGORO Women's cricket squad's Adolphina Jeremiah is in a strong pursuit of the TCA Women's National League 2025 Player of the Series prize, having excelled with both bat and ball in the ongoing showdown.

After five rounds of encounters in the Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA)-organized showdown, Adolphina (pictured) is confidently sitting second in the league's leading run-getters' list, amassing 189 runs in five innings. The Morogoro Women's top-order batter, currently averaging 47.25, boasts one unbeaten showing with the bat, with her 189 runs coming at a strike rate of 152.42.

Adolphina's best performance at the crease had her garnering an impressive 112 runs not out when her team locked horns with Dodoma Women in the second round of clashes on September 2. She played a pivotal part in Morogoro Women's comprehensive 154-run victory over Dodoma Women, grabbing the 112 runs not out at a strike rate of 167.16.

Morogoro Women took the crease first in the clash and garnered a mammoth 209/1 in the scheduled 20 overs. With an obvious huge target of 210 runs in their sight, mounting a successful chase turned out to be a daunting task for the Maridhia Adam-led Dodoma Women, considering they ended up posting just 55/8 in their 20 overs.

The well-drilled Adolphina is coming hot on the heels of the TCA Women's National League 2025's leading run-getter, Zakia Ally, who features for Gairo Women. Zakia is leading the rest in the table of the showdown's batters with the most runs, given she has scored 362 runs in five ties.

She boasts two not-out spells, with her figures coming at a strike rate of 148.97. Her best batting showing ended with the cricketer notching 97 runs not out when Gairo Women faced Dodoma Women on September 3, clobbering the latter by 159 runs.

 Third-placed Morogoro Women's Zulfa Hussein has garnered 168 runs, and fourth-placed Lailines Mganga of Gairo Women has secured 134 runs, to claim the strong contender tag for the league's best batting performer prize.

 Asha Ally of Morogoro Women boasts 127 runs to hold fifth spot, Ester Zephania, now featuring for Chamwino Women, is sixth after amassing 108 runs, and Mwajuma Matheo, featuring for Dar es Salaam Combine Women, is in seventh place after scoring 89 runs.

 Eighth-placed Lightness Eliud of Dar es Salaam Women Combine with 85 runs, Tuliana Essau of Morogoro Women, now coming ninth with 81 runs, and Dodoma Women's Loveness Fabian with 77 runs, wind up the top 10 of the league's leading run-getters.

 Adolphina is further the TCA Women's National League 2025's leading wicket-taker, having secured seven wickets in five outings.The cricketer's exploits have had her garner the 2.31 economy rate, having given away 37 runs in 16 overs.
