THE Africa Tech Festival has announced a distinguished group of industry leaders to steer its 2025 edition, set to take place in Cape Town, South Africa, from November 10 to 13.

The newly established leadership council will guide the event’s agenda and address the most pressing issues and opportunities in Africa’s digital economy.

James Williams, event director of Africa Tech Festival, emphasised the critical role the Leadership Council will play in shaping the event. "Africa Tech Festival serves as a platform for connection, collaboration, and innovation across the continent. With the guidance of our Leadership Council, we will continue to curate an event that drives impactful conversations, supports industry growth, and fosters Africa’s position as a global technology leader," Williams said.

The council is made up of top professionals from leading organizations, including Brelotte Ba, Deputy CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa; Antoinette Kwofie, CFO of MTN Ghana; and Charles Murito, regional director at Google. These influential figures bring diverse expertise and perspectives to the table.

Other key members include Bunmi Adeleye, Chief Strategy Officer at Retail Supermarkets Nigeria (Shoprite Nigeria), and Faith Burn, CIO of Eskom. Additionally, top executives from major companies such as Standard Bank, Microsoft Africa, and Telkom SA are also part of the council.

The leadership council will focus on strategic guidance in areas like connectivity, artificial intelligence, fintech, cybersecurity, and the future of digital infrastructure across Africa, positioning the continent as a powerhouse for technological growth and innovation.
