Employers urged to submit workers’ NSSF contributions promptly,chair

EMPLOYERS in the private sector have been reminded to fulfill their legal obligations to submit workers’ social security contributions promptly to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF).

Speaking at the 54th General Workers’ Council meeting, NSSF board chairperson Mwamini Malemi said delays in contributions directly impact service delivery and members welfare. “Timely submission of contributions is a legal duty and a vital safeguard for workers’ rights,” Malemi stressed. She reaffirmed NSSF’s commitment to offering sustainable, high-quality services based on integrity, accountability, and the use of modern technology.

Malemi highlighted recent NSSF achievements, including stronger ICT systems, increased members registration, reduced revenue leakages, and strategic investments. “Our vision is to ensure all members receive efficient, modern services,” she said, adding that NSSF aims to set the standard in the social security sector.

 She also congratulated newly appointed board members, urging them to lead with integrity and uphold institutional laws and regulations.NSSF director general Masha Mshomba shared optimism about the Fund’s future, citing efforts to expand membership, enhance benefit disbursement, and improve services through digital innovation.

Director of Human Resources and Administration Bekwabi Mujungu called on Council members to implement resolutions effectively to support the Fund’s mission. In her vote of thanks, employee Flora Ndutta reiterated NSSF’s dedication to reaching self-employed citizens and improving services through professionalism, ethics, and technology.
