SCHNEIDER Electric, a global leader in energy management, automation, and recognized sustainability, has announced the appointment of Canninah Dladla as its new Cluster President for English-speaking (Anglophone) Africa, effective 1 June 2025.
Dladla becomes the first woman to lead this strategic cluster, which includes 24 countries and is headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The region holds significant importance for Schneider Electric, given its rapidly expanding economies, growing populations, and increasing demand for energy and sustainable solutions.
Her appointment aligns with the company’s mission to drive sustainable growth and innovation in energy management across the continent.
She succeeds Devan Pillay, who will transition into a new international role as Segment President for Heavy Industries, based in London, England.
Dladla is no stranger to Schneider Electric, having held several key roles at the company between 2008 and 2013, including Vice President for the Energy Business within its Power Systems division.
She returns with over 29 years of experience and a strong track record of leadership across the energy and industrial sectors.
Most recently, Dladla served as Managing Director and Country Sales Director, Africa at Rockwell Automation. In this role, she led business transformation initiatives and aligned global strategies with local market needs, contributing to the company's expansion across both English- and French-speaking Africa.
She also previously held an executive role at GE Power, where she oversaw strategic accounts and key transformation initiatives.
As a passionate advocate for brand, culture, and inclusion, Dladla has consistently driven organizational growth while promoting locally relevant, customer-centric approaches across the continent.
“We are thrilled to welcome Canninah Dladla into this pivotal leadership role,” said Walid Sheta, Zone President, Middle East and Africa at Schneider Electric. “Her deep industry expertise, visionary leadership, and commitment to innovation will drive our operations across Anglophone Africa. Canninah will focus on talent development, digital and electric technology deployment, and advancing our targeted segments—empowering our customers, partners, and communities.”
“I’m excited to rejoin Schneider Electric at a time when Anglophone Africa is poised for transformation. The region’s natural resources, urbanization, and rising demand for sustainable energy create a strong foundation for growth. I look forward to leading initiatives that deliver impactful solutions and services, unlocking new opportunities and long-term value for communities and businesses across the continent.”
As the company welcomes Dladla, it also recognizes Devan Pillay’s significant contributions. Under his leadership, Schneider Electric expanded its presence across Anglophone Africa, leveraging a segment-driven growth strategy.
His focus on sustainability, renewable energy, and local empowerment established the company as a key enabler of sustainable development across the region.
With Dladla at the helm, supported by a strong network of employees, partners, and customers, Schneider Electric is poised to continue its journey of sustainable innovation and growth throughout Anglophone Africa.
