Former Kisesa MP from Simiyu Region, Luhaga Mpina, has officially joined ACT-Wazalendo and has been handed the party's presidential nomination form.
Reliable sources within ACT-Wazalendo confirmed that Mpina received his membership card and the presidential nomination form on Monday, August 4, 2025.
This move marks a new political chapter for Mpina after CCM dropped his name from the list of parliamentary aspirants for Kisesa in the party’s internal nomination process ahead of the October 29 General Elections.
Mpina’s defection comes as ACT-Wazalendo holds its leadership committee, central committee, and national executive council meetings today, August 5, 2025, in preparation for the party’s General Congress slated for tomorrow, Wednesday, August 6.
Photos circulating show Mpina being registered digitally by ACT-Wazalendo Leader Dorothy Semu. Former party leader Zitto Kabwe was also present, with all three smiling during the registration.
