MANYARA Regional Commissioner Queen Sendiga has announced that a total of 2.1bn/- has been allocated for implementation of vital development projects across the region.

The announcement came during her visit to the Hanang District on Thursday where she assessed the progress of ongoing projects aimed at enhancing healthcare, education, water supply, infrastructure, and agriculture.

The allocated funds are expected to accelerate completion of critical initiatives and directly benefit local communities.

“With the funding, all outstanding projects will be completed and the people will soon begin reaping the benefits of these improvements,” she said.

She emphasised that the government is committed to delivering quality services, including infrastructure to the residents of Manyara.

The RC also praised the local community members for their active participation in development efforts, particularly highlighting their contribution to the construction of a new dormitory at Jorojick Secondary School.

“The community has raised 42m/- for the dormitory while the government had allocated 70m/- for the project. The collaborative effort is a clear demonstration of the community's commitment to their own development,” she said.

Sendiga encouraged the public to maintain this spirit of collaboration, stressing that the success of development projects depends on the active involvement of local communities.

“These projects are not just for the government; they are for the people. It is essential that we all work together to make these initiatives a success,” she said.

In addition, the regional commissioner condemned the ongoing border disputes between villages, which she said hinder development and create unnecessary conflicts.

“The disputes delay progress and foster division. I urge everyone to focus on cooperation and unity for the sake of community development,” she said.

She further directed village leaders to hold public meetings to ensure transparency in the management of public funds, particularly for the projects funded by the government. The aim is to keep citizens informed about how resources are being utilised and ensure accountability.

Rose Kamili, Chairperson of Hanang District Council, assured the regional commissioner that the local government will continue to oversee proper implementation of development projects and ensure that the allocated funds are used efficiently.
