Residents in Mwanga and Same districts, Kilimanjaro Region have vowed to wake up early on October 29 to cast their votes, assuring CCM presidential candidate Samia Suluhu Hassan of their overwhelming support in the forthcoming general election.

Speaking during Samia’s campaign rallies in the districts today, the residents expressed their determination to ensure a decisive win for her, citing the government’s visible achievements in the past five years.

The people hailed Samia for expanding access to water projects, improving healthcare facilities, revamping education infrastructure, and strengthening women and youth empowerment initiatives. They noted that under her leadership, Kilimanjaro has witnessed long-awaited road improvements and new economic opportunities for farmers and small businesses.

“We are grateful to Samia for solving the long-standing water problem in our area. For many years, we struggled to access clean water, but today we can breath a sigh of relief,” said Anna Moshi, a resident of Mwanga District.

“As young people, we have benefitted a lot from vocational training centres and the government’s youth loans. We believe re-electing Samia will open more doors for us,” added Michael Mrema from Same District.

“Our health centre now has new buildings and modern equipment. Pregnant women and children are no longer travelling long distances for care. This is why we are ready to give Samia our votes,” said Neema Kileo, a mother of three from Mwanga.

“We are farmers here, and Samia’s government has made inputs more accessible and affordable. I am sure she will continue to boost agriculture and ensure we earn better incomes,” noted Juma Ally, a maize farmer in Same.

Mathayo David Samia, CCM Same West parliamentary aspirant, thanked Samia for the 300bn/- Nyumba Ya Mungu water project, while calling for continued measures against wildlife attacks, particularly during harvest season.

Northern Zone CCM election coordinator and former Prime Minister Fredrick Sumaye said residents are prepared to hear party policies and vote on October 29. “We will make history with our votes,” he said.

In her address, Samia thanked the residents for their warm reception and assured them that her next government will continue to deliver development across Kilimanjaro, with a strong focus on road connectivity, irrigation schemes, and boosting tourism opportunities in the northern corridor.

She urged residents to turn out in large numbers on election day, promising to deepen reforms aimed at uplifting every Tanzanian.
