Members of the Special General Meeting of the Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM} Parents' Wing have re-elected Najma Murtaza Giga as a Special Seats Member of Parliament.
Giga, who previously served as the Chairperson of Parliament, secured the delegates' mandate to continue representing the wing in the National Assembly.
In the same election, Hadija Taya, popularly known as Keisha, who also served as a Special Seats MP, failed to retain her seat.
Other winners in the Special Seats category included Dr. Catherine Joackim.
For the Zanzibar House of Representatives, the delegates elected Aza Joseph and Salama Abasi Juma to represent the wing in Special Seats positions.
The election is part of CCM’s internal process to select candidates for various positions ahead of the 2025 General Election.
