Nyamo-Hanga’s farewell set for Wednesday in Bunda
THE body of the late TANESCO Director General Gissima Nyamo-Hanga will be laid to rest on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at his family home in Mingungani, Bunda District, Mara Region.
Nyamo-Hanga and his driver died in a car accident early Sunday morning in Bunda.
Police say the accident occurred when their driver swerved to avoid a cyclist and collided with a truck.
TANESCO has announced that mourning will take place today and tomorrow at the late Nyamo-Hanga’s residence in Oysterbay, Dar es Salaam.
Nyamo-Hanga was appointed TANESCO Managing Director by President Samia in September 2023, having previously served at the Rural Energy Agency (REA). After his appointment, he faced national electricity challenges head-on and managed to resolve many of them significantly.
