Tanzania recognized for advancing personal data and internet protection systems

Tanzania has been cited as a country in Africa that has taken a step by building better and stable systems for personal information protection and internet protection.

This was stated yesterday by Athuman Mlinga, Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Vodacom Tanzania, during the annual meeting of the Tanzania Community Systems (ISACA).  

The Director said they had participated in such conferences and had temporarily collaborated with the community of various government systems and institutions, including universities, in order to ensure students gain knowledge of systemic issues and network protection.

"In the country, we have been focusing on various private and government institutions, including the University of Dar es Salaam.

However, he said the protection of personal information and the protection of the company have been prioritized so that they, as service providers, collect and recycle information.

He also said that through their systems, they have built it by putting it in an environment that cares and appreciates customer information to prevent any form of fraud.

"We are aware of the challenge of customer information as it is a matter and is sustainable as the hackers continue to look for new ways to break it down, we are looking for ways to control the crime, including ensuring our involved employees have access to education and training to deal with it," he said.

He said that because their company offers telecommunications services, they are at the forefront of ensuring the protection of personal customer information, and network security is given priority.

He said that because the company recognizes the importance of digital development in the country, they have created an enabling environment to promote the digital economy by setting up better and robust systems that use the most modern technologies.

He said at the conference, they had exchanged experiences with public and private institutions responsible for Internet issues, thus giving participants the opportunity from within and outside the country to increase the knowledge and knowledge of personal information and security information.

ISACA  President, Piter Baziwe, said in online areas, there are many challenges, including the problem of networking as well as the protection and security of systems.

He said they have been partnering with various government and private institutions, including Vodacom, on system protection by building strong systems and controlling networks.
