TRA applauds TGL for advancing tax awareness, compliance

THE Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has applauded The Guardian Limited for its significant efforts in advancing tax awareness and tax promotion compliance among the public via its coverage.

Paul Walalaze, TRA’s Taxpayer Education Manager, made the acknowledgment today December 19, 2024 as the Authorities’ team paid a courtesy visit to IPP Media at Mikocheni Industrial Area, Dar es Salaam.

He noted that the newspaper company has been instrumental in raising awareness about the importance of paying taxes through its daily publications.

“The Guardian Limited has been a true partner of TRA in ensuring that the message on the importance of paying taxes reaches the public effectively and accurately. Their reports not only promote tax compliance but also help bridge the gap between the tax authority and taxpayers by enhancing understanding of tax policies and the importance of accountability,” he said.

He further extended special commendation to the organisation’s management for their contribution. Through its in-depth and reliable reporting, the company has successfully encouraged accountability among citizens and business owners, a step that has enhanced integrity and transparency in tax compliance matters in the country.

The Guardian Limited, which is widely acclaimed as The Home of Great Newspapers currently publishes two daily newspapers, The Guardian and Nipashe.
