TANZANIA’S business and media sectors are poised for a major digital transformation following a new strategic partnership between a local business consultancy company and foreign based digital innovation firm.

The agreement between BSM Washauri (TZ) Ltd, a local business consultancy, and Adanian Labs South Africa Pty Ltd, a pan-African technology company specialising in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital innovation signed yesterday aims at catalysing AI adoption and fuel innovation in enterprises and institutions nationwide.

The agreement, signed yesterday in Dar es Salaam, where BSM Washauri was appointed  as an independent, non-exclusive marketing and sales agent for Adanian Labs’ Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms across Tanzania.

“This collaboration aligns perfectly with our mission to support businesses in achieving scalable and sustainable growth through smart technology and strategic innovation,” said Bakari Machumu, CEO of BSM Washauri. “We are honoured to partner with Adanian Labs to bring cutting-edge AI solutions to Tanzanian enterprises.”

The partnership combines Adanian Labs’ AI expertise with BSM Washauri’s local market insight to foster data-driven decision-making, organisational agility, and future-ready leadership across sectors including finance, logistics, manufacturing, agriculture, and media.

According to Irene Kiwia, Co-Founder and Chief Growth Officer of Adanian Labs, the collaboration represents more than just market expansion—it’s about building local capacity and shaping the future of AI in the region.

“Tanzania has the talent, infrastructure, and ambition to become a beacon of AI-driven development in East Africa,” Kiwia said. A key element of the partnership is the rollout of an AI for Leaders” training programme, which aims to demystify artificial intelligence for executives and decision-makers.

The training will include AI-readiness assessments, strategy development, and adoption roadmaps tailored to specific industries. These programmes will help organisations align AI initiatives with business goals, support policy development, and ensure that implementation is both ethical and practical.

In addition, Tanzanian enterprises will gain access to Adanian Labs’ AI Center of Excellence-as-a-Service (AICEaaS) platform. This innovation hub offers businesses hands-on support in AI product development, strategic consulting, and access to technical talent.

The first phase of implementation is scheduled for July 2025, with initial efforts targeting priority sectors and anchor institutions. The rollout will include strategic roundtables, public-private dialogues, and regional workshops, all aimed at positioning Tanzania as a regional hub for AI innovation and enterprise transformation.
