Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory message to Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan following her landslide victory in the October 29, 2025 General Election.

Dr. Samia won the election with an overwhelming 31,913,866 votes, equivalent to 97.66%, securing her another five-year term as the President of the United Republic of Tanzania.

President Xi joins other world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, who on Thursday sent a special congratulatory message delivered personally to President Samia at the State House in Chamwino, Dodoma.

In his message dated Thursday, November 6, 2025, President Xi, who leads the world’s second-largest economy, congratulated Dr. Samia on her inauguration for a new term in office.

“I am delighted to learn of your official assumption of duties as President of the United Republic of Tanzania. On behalf of the Government and the people of China, I extend to you my heartfelt congratulations,” wrote President Xi Jinping.“I wish you every success in performing this noble duty and greater achievements in leading the people of Tanzania toward national development and new prosperity.”

In his message, President Xi also emphasized his appreciation for the strong progress in China–Tanzania relations, expressing his commitment to working closely with President Samia to implement the outcomes of the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held in Beijing.

He further reaffirmed China’s determination to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership with Tanzania, with the goal of advancing to a higher level and building a lasting China–Africa community with a shared future in the new era.
