ANKIT Baghel starred with the ball as Park Mobile Lions trounced KX Intek Gymkhana by nine wickets in the 2025 Petrofuel TCA Caravans T20 Cup clash in Dar es Salaam recently.

The Mohamed Salim-led Park Mobile Lions came out victorious through the Duckworth-Lewis (D/L) method, successfully reaching the revised target in the scheduled 14 overs.

Batting weakness was again in view once KX Intek Gymkhana took the crease, given they were skittled for a mere 83 runs in 18.4 overs.

Team captain Amit Raghuvanshi and Sai Surya were the cricketers with a noticeable showing in the otherwise less impressive batting outing for KX Intek Gymkhana, who did not have the guts to set up meaningful partnerships.

Raghuvanshi was, at the end of it all, the top run-getter for the team after scoring 29 runs at a strike rate of 61.70, whereas Surya ended up with 23 runs at a strike rate of 88.46.

Dharmin Parmar, coming in at the middle order, returned with a 12-ball 12 in a short stint with the bat, with the remainder of the batting unit members faring dismally.

The Park Mobile Lions bowlers had no mercy for KX Intek Gymkhana, unleashing a ruthless bowling showing which rattled the latter.

Baghel ended up with the most impressive figures for Park Mobile Lions, commanding a 4-22, which saw the bowler notch the 5.50 economy rate.

There were also equally significant knocks by January Joseph and Anmol Yadav, who chipped in with two wickets apiece. Joseph posted 2-8 and the eventual 2.18 economy rate, and Yadav took 2-15.

Yadav was responsible for frustrating efforts by KX Intek Gymkhana to end up with a massive total, having taken important wickets of openers, team captain Raghuvanshi and Gulraiz Hydari.

Chasing a revised target of 64 runs in the scheduled 14 overs, Park Mobile Lions did not waste time cruising to the victory, amassing 67 runs whilst dropping one wicket in 9.1 overs.

The early dismissal of the opener, Baghel, could not frustrate the resolute Park Mobile Lions, as they smoothly garnered the victory thanks to a solid stand by the other opener, Roopkumar Yadav, and Kashif Ahmad.

Yadav ended up four runs short of a half-century, boasting a not-out showing, whereas Ahmad chipped in with 17 runs not out.

The loss has seen KX Intek Gymkhana sit second from bottom of the showdown's table, posting an inferior -1.9936 Net Run Rate after failing to notch a victory in six games.

Park Mobile Lions' Baghel won the Ras Logistics Player of the Match prize- having racked up four wickets, teammate Umar Shaikh garnered the Colourflex Dot Wizard Award, having posted 17 dot balls, and Roopkumar Yadav secured the Pepsi Power Hitter prize for his huge six.

The weekend further witnessed Harab Motors Pak Stars stun the showpiece's defending champions, Alliance Caravans, by nine runs in an exciting clash.

The Rana Waqas-skippered Harab Motors Pak Stars saw to it they made full use of their opportunity to take the crease first, notching 166/4 in 20 overs.

Despite facing some opposition from the Alliance Caravans bowling unit, Harab Motors Pak Stars' cricketers Muhammad Adil, Manzoor Ahmad, Zamoyoni Ramadhani, and Mohamed Omary wrapped up their batting time with good figures.

Adil was the cricketer with the most runs, blasting 38 runs at a strike rate of 135.71. Ahmad posted a quickfire, unbeaten 32 runs from 17 balls, Ramadhani ended up with 25 runs not out and Omary scored 25 runs.

Alliance Caravans' bowlers Karthik Nair, Yalinde Maurice, Johnson Nyambo, and Justin Thomas ended up with one wicket each, keenly striving to repel Harab Motors Pak Stars' batting threat.

Although 167 runs were a modest target, based on Alliance Caravans' batting pedigree, the club's efforts waned after amassing 157/8 in 20 overs, consequently facing a setback in its title defence campaign.

Stellar showing at the crease by key performers, Ajith Augastin and Nair, could not have Alliance Caravans living up to expectations, as they were undone by a spirited fielding by Harab Motors Pak Stars.

Augastin surpassed a half-century mark to make his way back with 75 runs at a strike rate of 138.89, whereas Nair hammered 56 runs.

Harab Motors Pak Stars battled to frustrate Alliance Caravans' chase early on, quickly snatching the wicket of opener Amal Rajeevan, who ended one run short of two digits.

The bowling side's Adil was moreover responsible for a crucial dismissal of Alliance Caravans' captain, Akhil Anil, for duck, thereby weakening the latter's resoluteness.

Harab Motors Pak Stars' Adil and Muhammad Mudasser enjoyed a stellar bowling performance for the eventual winners, with Adil taking 2-32 and Mudasser grabbing 2-36.
