MBWANA Samatta is experiencing a spectacular return to form. The Tanzanian striker (pictured) has exploded onto the scene in Greece, scoring four goals in just eight days and signalling a dramatic end to a frustrating goal drought.

Samatta's resurgence began on February 8 in Crete against OFI.  His two goals in PAOK's 5-0 rout not only broke a 15-month scoreless streak but also ignited the spark for what was to come.

The striker's momentum continued in the Europa League knockout stage against Steaua Bucharest on February 13.  Samatta opened the scoring in the 21st minute, capitalizing on a clever turn by Pelkas inside the box to slot the ball home.

His most recent strike came against Lamia in the Greek Super League.  In the first half, a perfectly weighted pass from Giannis Konstantelias found Joan Sastre, who set up Samatta for a clinical finish. This goal not only propelled PAOK to a 2-0 victory but also marked Samatta's fourth goal in just three matches, exceeding his total for the entire season prior to this incredible run.

PAOK is clearly benefiting from Samatta's newfound confidence in front of goal.  If he maintains this prolific form, he has the potential to become a fan favourite and a key figure in the club's attack.

This resurgence is also timely for Tanzania.  With crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Morocco (away) and the Republic of Congo (home) looming in March, a firing Samatta is a major boost for the Taifa Stars.

Samatta, Tanzania's most accomplished footballer, has a distinguished international record, scoring 22 goals for his country since his debut in 2011 under coach Jan Poulsen.

His impressive career includes triumphs in the CAF Champions League and Belgian Pro League, a stint in the English Premier League, and accolades as the Belgian league's top scorer and best foreign player of the season.

Now, with his goal-scoring touch rediscovered, both PAOK and Tanzania have reason to be excited about what the future holds.

Samatta's resurgence promises to be a significant factor for both club and country.
