SIMBA SC has safely arrived in Ismailia, Egypt, to officially begin the outfit’s pre-season training for the 2025/26 campaign.

This marks the second consecutive year that the Tanzanian giants have chosen the Egyptian city as their pre-season destination, reflecting their commitment to high-level preparations for both domestic and continental competitions.

The camp is led by the club’s head coach Fadlu Davids, who will use this crucial period to strengthen the squad ahead of a demanding season that includes the CAF Champions League, the Mainland Premier League, and local competitions such as the Federation Cup and Community Shield.

Despite finishing last season without a trophy, Davids (pictured) made significant strides in shaping a modern and cohesive playing philosophy.

Under his guidance, Simba SC reached the final of the CAF Confederation Cup and secured a second-place finish in the Mainland Premier League.

His tactical approach saw notable improvements in the team’s defensive structure and attacking transitions, earning him praise from fans and the club's hierarchy.

Now, with a new season ahead, the South African tactician has a fresh opportunity to refine his squad and aim for silverware on all fronts.

The expectations are high, with both the club management and supporters eager to see Simba SC reclaim dominance domestically and maintain competitiveness in continental football.

In preparation for the new season, Simba SC has been proactive in the transfer market. 

The club has made key signings during the current transfer window, addressing areas of weakness identified during the previous campaign.

One of the key updates in the Simba SC camp involves striker Kibu Denis, who recently returned to Tanzania after spending close to three weeks in the United States.

During his time in the US, Kibu was on trial with Major League Soccer (MLS) side Nashville SC.

Reports from sources close to the player indicate that Kibu performed impressively during his stint with Nashville, whereby he was allowed to showcase his skills in a competitive training environment.

According to insiders, the American club was pleased with his performances and may soon table an official offer to Simba SC for his services.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Kibu has been instructed to join his Simba SC teammates in Ismailia, where the squad arrived yesterday to begin pre-season training.

It is expected that he will travel today to link up with the camp, pending any developments in transfer negotiations.

Kibu’s presence in Egypt suggests that Simba SC still considers him an integral part of the squad for now.

While the possibility of a move to the United States remains open, the club appears willing to consider any offers that are mutually beneficial for both parties.

Simba SC’s training camp in Egypt will run for approximately 28 days, concluding on August 28.
