Through the EACOP and WASCO ISOAF Scholarship Program, 124 Tanzanian students have received full scholarships, a potent testament to the company's dedication to community development. An important milestone in the endeavor to develop a trained local workforce for Tanzania's expanding energy sector was reached with the inauguration event, which took place in Tabora.

Community leaders, EWURA, TPDC, VETA, and high government officials attended the ceremony. WASCO ISOAF Project Director Gary Deason said, "Today, we are investing in the future not just giving scholarships," when speaking at the event. This initiative will build stronger families, enhance lives, and create groundwork for future national development.

With the addition of these Scholarships, EACOP now has 216 scholarships overall. This program is a component of a larger plan to provide access to high quality technical education that also involves collaborations with UDSM, Arusha Technical College, and VETA.

Over 71 Tanzanians have been placed in hands-on training opportunities both domestically and abroad, including in China, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and France, as part of EACOP's local content initiatives. To improve the quality of technical teaching across the country, the Train-the-Trainer program has also taught over 250 teachers.

"We are honored to support such a meaningful program and are committed to delivering high-quality training to these scholars," said Dr. Zebedayo Kyomo, Principal of VETA Tabora, in appreciation of the effort.

More than 100 Tanzanian SMEs have received training from the Industrial Enhancement Center on contemporary pipeline technologies and safety regulations, increasing their involvement in the oil and gas value chain. At the peak of the project, 6,763 locals were hired, and over 24 million manhours were contributed by workers, in addition to more than 347,000 manhours invested in training the local labor.

"This is a long-term investment for the youth who will become Tanzania's future engineers and innovators," stressed Geofrey Mponda, HR Director at EACOP. "EACOP's journey reflects a commitment to people, performance, and prosperity,we are building a legacy, not just a pipeline," said Neema Kweka, EACOP’s Local Content Manager.

The Nzega District Commissioner hailed the initiative as a crucial step toward youth empowerment and economic inclusion and praised it as an example of public-private cooperation.

In addition to celebrating academic opportunity, the ceremony emphasized the value of teamwork in creating a talented and successful Tanzania.
