Tanzanian-owned automotive and equipment company GF Trucks & Equipment Ltd has been named the overall winner of the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (SabaSaba 2025) and marked the milestone with a spirited celebration involving stakeholders, staff, and clients at the SabaSaba grounds in Dar es Salaam.

The celebration brought together employees from both the company’s headquarters and its Kibaha-based assembly plant, along with valued customers – whom the company described as a cornerstone of its continued success.

Speaking during the occasion, Chairperson of the Board of Directors at GF Trucks, Mehboob Karmali, attributed the victory to the enabling environment provided by the Tanzanian Government and the solid internal collaboration between the company's leadership and its employees.

“This achievement is the result of a powerful trinity – leadership, workers, and the government. That synergy is the secret behind our continued growth and success,” said Karmali.

“We are proud to offer a wide range of vehicles, from light-duty to heavy-duty trucks, suited for mining, agriculture, and construction sectors. Brands such as FAW, XCMG, Mahindra, and Hyundai are all available through GF – and more importantly, they are assembled right here in Tanzania at our GF Vehicle Assemblers (GFA) plant in Kibaha, Coast Region,” he added.

Factory Manager at GF Vehicle Assemblers, Mr Ezra Mereng, also commended the company’s leadership, employees, and government support for fostering an environment where local manufacturing can thrive.

“Thanks to strong leadership and favourable government policies for investors, particularly in the automotive sector, we are witnessing the growth of a proudly Tanzanian brand that competes on a global level. The future holds great promise,” Mr Mereng noted.
