The Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Qatar, in collaboration with a delegation of public and private stakeholders from the construction and manufacturing sectors, is participating in the ongoing Project Qatar 2025 exhibition.

The event, which began this week at the Doha Exhibition and Conference Centre (DECC) in Doha, Qatar, is themed “Experiencing the Synergy of Construction and Manufacturing Innovation.” It brings together industry professionals, decision-makers, and innovators to explore the future of these sectors through cutting-edge technology and sustainable development.

Tanzanian Ambassador to Qatar, Habibu Awesi Mohamed, said the country’s delegation includes representatives from the Ministry of Works, Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS), Tanzania Building Agency, and members of the Architects and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board (AQRB), Contractors Registration Board (CRB), as well as private contractors and engineering consulting firms.

Ambassador Awesi highlighted that Project Qatar 2025 features two flagship components showcasing regional advancements in construction and manufacturing. The first is a platform dedicated to technological innovations in smart manufacturing, emphasizing automation, digitalization, and intelligent systems transforming global industries. The second consists of a series of expert-led sessions addressing themes such as sustainable infrastructure, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for innovation and efficiency in construction, the future of smart manufacturing in Qatar, and transformations in retail logistics.

The exhibition was officially opened by Saleh bin Majid Al-Khulaifi, Assistant Undersecretary for Industrial & Business Development at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Qatar.

The event has attracted participants from across the globe, representing sectors such as construction, manufacturing, engineering, consultancy, quantity surveying, architecture, and business development.

Tanzania’s pavilion has drawn significant attention, with visits from senior Qatari government dignitaries and global stakeholders from both the public and private sectors. The ambassador said the delegation engaged in fruitful discussions, helping to establish strong networks and laying the foundation for promising business collaborations and partnerships.

Private contractors and consultants from the delegation took part in structured business-to-business (B2B) engagements, including scheduled meetings with representatives from the Qatar Public Works Authority, Qatar Electricity and Water Corporation, and regulatory bodies for contractors, architects, and quantity surveyors. They also met with officials from the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“This participation marks a significant milestone in strengthening Tanzania’s presence in regional and global construction and manufacturing markets,” said Ambassador Awesi. “It reinforces our country’s commitment to innovation and sustainable development.”
