Airtel Money Tanzania partners with schools to digitize School Fees Payment

Airtel Money Tanzania today is launching a School Pay service a payment platform, which will improve and simplify the payment of school fees.

The Airtel Money School Pay platform will digitally transform the process of paying school fees, providing convenience, security, and effective means for parents and guardians to be able to make schools payment across the country. The service is specifically designed for private schools that offers payment means to parents to effect payments.

Parents can now effortlessly pay school fees from their mobile phones, anytime and anywhere due to the integration of Airtel Money’s mobile payment technology with the comprehensive management system of School Pay on the platform. Private Schools across the country will be able to instantly collect fees directly into their bank accounts, enabling an efficient way into their financial management. 

Speaking to Journalists at a press conference held at the Airtel Tanzania Headquarters, the Director of Airtel Money Tanzania, Andrew Rugamba, emphasized the significance of Airtel Money School Pay service, as he detailed that it is a significant step towards enhancing the management of educational experience especially for parents and schools in Tanzania. 

“We are committed to providing innovative solutions that simplify lives, Airtel Money School Pay is an evident case that encompasses a management system. The school management system has additional services that makes Airtel Money School Pay unique with plus one features, it offers an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, fees management module, student management system, and accounting modules, all offered free of charge to user schools. Parents can avoid long queues and pay fees effortlessly from their mobile phones, ensuring secure transactions and reducing the risks associated with cash handling,” he explained. 

Rugamba detailed that Airtel Money School Pay seeks to support the government to achieve a cashless economy and enhance a complete digital transition of all socio-economic sectors in the country. 

Rugamba further added, "Airtel Money School Pay digital solutions like this will play a crucial role in shaping the future of education in our country and we are excited to witness the positive impact this collaboration is already having in the schools that have adopted it."

Multiple private schools in the country have adopted this system, which enables parents to make seamless school fees payment. Such schools include Fountain Gate Schools, Ubungo Islamic High School, and Sheikhat Hissa School to mention the few”. 

On his part, the Director of Fountain Gate Schools Director, Japhet Makau, expressed his gratitude to Airtel Money for introducing a platform that secures transactions for school to seamless receive fees. 

 "Airtel Money School Pay platform has significantly improved our fee collection process and it has also enhanced our financial management by saving time to receive instant confirmations of the school fees paid and additional features have made over all management seamless," Makau said. 

He added “The Airtel Money School Pay will be paperless and completely automated payment system; it will have zero impact on the environment. We will be able to keep our storage in order and remove the hassle of keeping documents for referencing since it is all automated, parents and students will have the benefit of not carrying or storing payment records and receipts to keep track of their payments.”

Parents and guardians can access the Airtel Money School Pay service by dialling *150*60#, select option 5 (Make Payment), choose School Fees, and then select option 3 (School Pay) to proceed with the payment.
