Dr Willibrod Slaa arrested in Dar, allegations yet to be disclosed
The Dar es Salaam Special Zone Police have detained Dr. Willibrod Slaa, the former Tanzanian Ambassador to Sweden, for questioning.
He was arrested in the early hours of January 10, 2025, at his home in Bweni.
The police have yet to disclose the charges against Dr. Slaa, a prominent politician who previously served as the Secretary-General of CHADEMA (Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo) and as the Member of Parliament for Karatu.
Jumanne Muliro, the Dar es Salaam Special Zone Police Commander confirmed the arrest, stating that the questioning had gone well and that authorities are now consulting legal provisions to determine the next steps.
However, Commander Muliro declined to provide further details regarding the accusations against Dr. Slaa.
