The Bagamoyo District Commissioner in Pwani Region, Shaibu Ndemanga, has urged students and teachers of Kiwangwa Secondary School to take good care of the toilet facilities built for them by the Flaviana Matata Foundation (FMF).
FMF completes construction of toilets and a special room at Kiwangwa Secondary School in Pwani Region
Speaking today at the launch of the new facilities at the school on behalf of the Regional Commissioner, Aboubakar Kunenge, Ndemanga said that the completion of 12 toilet units for female students will significantly encourage them in their pursuit of education.
He said that the students and teachers of the school are now required to maintain the facilities so that they continue to serve them.
“The completion of this construction is a practical contribution to the Government’s efforts to improve the education sector in the country. In a special way, we sincerely thank FMF for showing, through action, its support for the Government’s efforts to improve education,” he said.
He added that the improvement of infrastructure at Kiwangwa School will help promote education for girls.
“We thank the Flaviana Matata Foundation for continuing to implement development projects in Pwani Region. These efforts have a great contribution to improving education and the well-being of our community,” said Ndemanga.
In addition to this project, the Foundation, in collaboration with Safar Global Foundation, has also completed the construction of two toilet units for teachers at the school, as well as a special room for girls to have privacy and a hand-washing area.
On her part, the FMF Director, Flaviana Matata, thanked Safar Global Foundation for funding the construction of the toilets.
“Thank you for believing in what we do and for your commitment to ensuring that we succeed in this.
We have also built toilets for teachers because when we support teachers, we strengthen the entire learning environment. So today, we are truly supporting both sides, the students and the teachers, and this represents respect, cooperation, and a shared commitment to education and dignity,” said Flaviana.
