Mbogo 2025: A New chapter for livestock, agricultural unity in Africa

The Mbogo 2025 International Livestock Exhibition is set to make a historic mark not only for Tanzania's livestock industry but also for regional unity and agricultural development in East and Southern Africa.

Speaking today, May 12, the Director of Mbogo Ranches, Naweed Mulla, announced that the exhibition will take place from June 14, 2025, at the Ubena Zomozi Exhibition Grounds, in Chalinze, Pwani Region.

“This is a dream come true — a result of strong efforts that are bringing together top livestock farmers from Tanzania, Kenya, and Namibia for the very first international livestock auction to be held in our country.

“This is no small feat. It reflects a growing confidence in Tanzania as a hub for livestock excellence and agricultural investment in this region. This event is not just about showcasing superior livestock such as Boran, Brahman, Dorper, and others.

“It’s a celebration of African knowledge, cross-border collaboration, and the setting of new standards in genetic quality, trade, and sustainability. We are proud to come together to showcase world-class livestock from the most respected farms in Africa — including Mbogo Ranches, Super Game Dealers, Tanzania Game and Livestock.

“Other participating farms include Breeders, Silversand Brahman, Mogwooni Boran Stud, Woragus Boran Stud, Ol Pejeta Beef, Kifuku Boran Stud, Sigi von Luttwitz, Tango Maos, Le Roux Dorpers, Simbra Southern Africa, and Brandy Bush. These names are not just brands — they are institutions of excellence and innovation in livestock farming.”

He noted that the theme of the 2025 exhibition is “Building Partnerships, Advancing Agriculture”, which reflects:Regional Cooperation: as a sign of what is possible when nations unite to uplift industry standards, share knowledge, and promote regional prosperity.

Private Sector Leadership: demonstrating how livestock farmers and private investors can drive change, create jobs, and strengthen agri-economies through quality, ethics, and vision.
National Capability: affirming Tanzania’s growing ability not only to meet its food security and livestock development goals, but also to play a major role across the continent in the livestock value chain.

Mulla expressed pride, as Director of Mbogo Ranches, in being part of this journey:“I am grateful to every partner, farmer, and stakeholder who contributed to making this vision a reality. Besides the exhibition and auction, this two-day event has been uniquely planned to offer all guests a memorable and enriching experience.

“We’ve organized attractive activities including foot and bicycle races, educational livestock seminars, an exhibition of livestock products and services, delicious food and drinks, and a special kids’ entertainment area.

“And not to forget the event’s highlight — the livestock auction, which will be historic as it will involve real-time cross-border trading through the SwiftVEE platform,” he said, using the opportunity to extend sincere thanks to the Gold Sponsor — NMB Bank.

He added that NMB Bank has once again shown its commitment to the growth of the agriculture and livestock sectors in Tanzania. Their support is a testament to their belief in innovation, entrepreneurship, and regional development. “Thank you, NMB, for being with us on this journey.”

He also extended deep appreciation to all sponsors and partners, including Farmbase, CMC Automobiles, and others who will come on board. “Your belief in this vision gives us the momentum. Together, we are not just organizing an event — we are building a lasting legacy.”

In this special event, he gave heartfelt thanks to President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, for creating an enabling environment of peace and stability for livestock farmers across the country.
“Her wise leadership, strong policies on agricultural and livestock development, and emphasis on investment in agri-business have enabled us to reach this historic milestone.”

He acknowledged the valuable contributions of their partners — including the government — and thanked fellow livestock farmers from Kenya and Namibia.
