THE Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA), has announced plans to establish a database containing various information on natural heritage, including the number of animals found within the conservation area.

This was revealed by the NCAA Conservation Commissioner, Abdul-Razaq Badru, while speaking to journalists at the authority’s pavilion during the ongoing 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF).

He stated that the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a place of unforgettable heritage, known as the site of early humans who had large body sizes.

“Among many things, Ngorongoro is known as the cradle of early human life. We welcome people to come and see not humans like us today but beings with unique and wondrous traits. All of this will be part of the products we are preparing to help people understand the history of human life.

“Humans, animals, the environment and even rare animal species not commonly found elsewhere in Africa or Tanzania will also be included in the growing population of the conservation area,” he said.

He added that they are enhancing conservation efforts within the area to meet emerging preservation needs.

“In terms of wildlife, we are improving and ensuring the continued protection of the environment and the natural vegetation, so that Ngorongoro maintains its uniqueness and continues to serve its purpose as a sanctuary for native wildlife, where humans and other creatures coexist.”

Additionally, he said they plan to expand the range of tourism products offered in the conservation area beyond the usual attractions.

“There’s so much we are doing at Ngorongoro, including diversifying the current range of attractions. Soon, we will unveil a variety of new products beyond those already known.

“We will introduce many offerings based on the uniqueness of the area for example, the crater, wildlife, water sources, and the many plant species that people are unaware of. In collaboration with our colleagues in the tourism sector, we will create such unique products.”

He further noted that they will improve services inside the conservation area, including accommodation and food, so that visitors can fully benefit from their experience.
