CCM presidential candidate Samia Suluhu Hassan, has pledged major infrastructure and agricultural interventions in Mufindi District, Iringa Region, vowing to fast-track the completion of key road projects, strengthen health facilities, and safeguard the interests of tea farmers.

Addressing residents in Nyololo, Mufindi District in Iringa Region, Samia announced that her government will prioritise the completion of the long-awaited Nyororo–Mtwango road, along with the Igowele–Kasanga road, to open up remote areas and improve transport for farmers and businesses.
She stressed that better connectivity would unlock opportunities for Mufindi’s agricultural economy, particularly the tea and coffee industries that dominate the district.
In a bid to reinforce health services, Dr Samia pledged to install an X-ray machine at the Mufindi District Hospital, saying the facility must be modernised to meet the growing population’s needs. “We want residents to access reliable diagnostic services close to home, without having to travel long distances,” she said.
Turning to the tea sector, the President said the government had formed a special task force to inspect various estates in the country including the one operated by the Mufindi Tea and Coffee Company. The team will verify whether the farms are being productively managed, warning that idle plantations may be repossessed and returned to the state for redistribution. She further assured farmers that all outstanding debts owed by the company will be settled.
“The welfare of our farmers is at the heart of our agenda. No one will be left behind,” Samia emphasised, noting that revitalising the tea sector is crucial for jobs, exports and community livelihoods in Mufindi.
