INDUSTRY and Trade minister Dr Selemani Jafo has urged Tanzanians to appreciate locally produced products in order to support local entrepreneurs in improving their businesses.

He made the statement recently in Dar es Salaam during his visit to an exhibition that brought together small-scale entrepreneurs (commonly known as JIBA SOUK).

The exhibition attracted over 250 small entrepreneurs and more than 13,000 visitors.

“I would like to specially commend iTrust Finance Limited for being the main sponsor of this important event aimed at boosting business opportunities and the economy among the Tanzanians who are working hard. Let us follow this patriotic example by valuing our local products,” said Dr Jafo.

The CEO of iTrust Finance, Faiz Arab, highlighted the significant contribution of small entrepreneurs in the country, which is why they have decided to support their financial inclusion efforts.

"As a financial services company committed to economic inclusion and empowerment, we view this sponsorship as an important step in bridging the financial gap and strengthening the long-term prosperity of small businesses," said Faiz.

According to iTrust Finance, the sponsorship is part of their mission to promote financial freedom by creating sustainable development opportunities for various groups in society.

He mentioned that they are currently focusing more on supporting women-led or women-owned businesses.

“This will help these entrepreneurs save for their children's education, secure their future, and ensure a peaceful retirement,” said Faiz.

Faiz added that their goal is to see positive outcomes for various groups, including women, in transforming their lives.
