TEC leader disputes police statement on attack against Fr Kitima
TANZANIA Episcopal Conference (TEC) President Bishop Wolfgang Pisa, has strongly refuted a statement issued by the police, accusing them of spreading misinformation.
Bishop Pisa denied claims that TEC Secretary General, Fr. Dr. Charles Kitima , was drinking before the attack, as suggested in the police report.
“There is no bar where Fr. Kitima was attacked; it’s a restaurant. So the claim that he was drinking all that time is false. We are preparing a full statement and will release it once ready,” he stated.
According to Bishop Pisa, Fr. Kitima was assaulted with a blunt object to the head and sustained a chin injury. The attack occurred shortly after he left the restaurant he frequents regularly.
