WOMEN entrepreneurs in Tanzania have been assured of increased support from financial institutions to help them scale up their businesses.

Esther Cecil Maruma, managing director of Bank of Africa Tanzania, made the remarks recently in Dar es Salaam when speaking at the Accelerate Women Summit 2025.

The Accelerate Women Summit 2025, held under the theme “Unstoppable Woman”, highlights the transformative power of supporting women.

“As a financial institution, we are committed to empowering women in all business spheres to advance financial inclusion,” Maruma said.

She emphasised the bank’s dedication to supporting women-led businesses as drivers of innovation, job creation, and economic resilience.

“We believe that when women thrive, communities and economies prosper. Our participation in the Accelerate Women Summit reflects our commitment to providing women entrepreneurs with access to financial resources, mentorship, and business growth support. This aligns with our core values of inclusion, innovation, and impact—ensuring we are not just a financial partner but a catalyst for progress,” Maruma stated.

Through tailored financial solutions and strategic partnerships, the bank aims to eliminate barriers limiting women’s access to finance and business growth. Platforms like the Accelerate Women Summit create opportunities for women to turn their entrepreneurial ambitions into successful enterprises.
