ABHISHEK Sinha's bowling exploits had Caravans C defeating Estim B by seven runs in the 2025 Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) DC League 2 tie in Dar es Salaam last weekend.
The rejuvenated Caravans C cricketers, in this case, have kept on putting pressure on Group A leaders Dar Black Panthers and brightening up the title chase.
The clash - bringing together squads which have lately been faring well - witnessed Caravans C take the crease first, scoring 103/7 in the scheduled 18 overs.
Except for one of the openers, Nitin Thomas and Sudu G, who succumbed to an early exit, the batsmen assigned at the top order were greatly responsible for the batting team's acquisition of the total.
The other opener, Hamisi, ended three runs short of a half-century to end as the batsman with the most runs.
Jonathan Nyambo, who grabbed 17 runs, and skipper Prabhu Subramani were the cricketers who chipped in with two digits - with the captain hammering a boundary on his way to posting 14 runs.
Although Arjun Kumar and Jeremiah Lista got back with their bats in their hands, they could hardly notch two digits.
Kumar posted six runs not out, and Lista ended up with an unbeaten nine runs.
Estim B's bowlers Naran Varsani, who ended his quota with 4-20 and 5.0 economy rate, and Bharat Dhanji with 2-23, battled to pin Caravans C's batting unit members down with a spirited bowling; the latter, nevertheless, were resolute.
The Avinash Kerai-led Estim B disappointingly faltered when chasing a modest score set up by the side which batted first.
Reaching 104 runs happened to be a quite challenging endeavour for Estim B because of a bowling onslaught by Caravans C.
Estim B's efforts to mount a successful chase ultimately waned, given the cricketers managed 96/10 in 17.5 overs.
Meaningful efforts at the crease were exhibited by Navin Meghji and Gopal Kanji, with Meghji securing 23 runs and Kanji scoring 20.
Sinha's ferocious bowling had Caravans C running rings around Estim B's batting unit- consequently frustrating the latter's chase.
The Caravans C cricketer, currently priding in stellar form, secured the best bowling figures, having grabbed 5-13 and a 3.4 economy rate.
The clash's eventual winners have, for that matter, garnered three successive wins to hold on to the second position.
