THE 2025 Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA)-Diwa Men’s Cricket League came to a dramatic conclusion, with Flashnet winning the silverware with a five-wicket win over Hitech Sai in the final in Dar es Salaam last weekend.
A quartet of Jitin Singh, Vikram Rathore, Rizwan Abbass, and Mohamad Jawed made their presence felt as Hitech Sai batted first in the final which, as stated by the TCA, lived up to the hype.
Singh notched 19 runs, Rathore garnered 20 runs, Jawed posted 11 runs, and Abbass made his way back with 10 runs as Hitech Sai scored 83/8 in the 10-over match.
Ajith Augastin had Flashnet spiritedly seeking to keep Hitech Sai's batting unit in check, garnering 2-9.
There was also a good contribution from Sobin Joseph as the performer ended his turn with the ball with 2-11.
Flashnet, led by the resolute Augastin, smoothly chased Hitech Sai's score to triumph, notching 84/5 in 8.1 overs.
Augastin's impressive innings played a crucial role in Flashnet's successful chase, given that the batsman nailed 33 runs.
Adersh Dileep scored 17 runs in an equally solid showing, as Flashnet battled to wade off a spirited fielding by Hitech Sai.
Flashnet had already closed in on a successful quest for victory, once Dileep was dismissed, reaching 75-5 after 7.4 overs.
Prabhu Subramani (eight runs not out) formed a sixth-wicket stand with Nithin Thomas (two runs not out) and put the game beyond Hitech Sai's reach, even though the duo did not end their turn at the crease with two-digit figures.
Umar Shaikh was the only performer with a bowling showing worth noting, in what turned out to be a fruitless effort by Hitech Sai to weaken Flashnet's spirit.
Shaikh ended his turn with the ball impressively, taking 3-19, but lacked the backing of fellow bowlers.
The TCA congratulated Flashnet for lifting the trophy and lauded Hitech Sai for exhibiting a valiant performance throughout the tournament.
Harsheed Chohan was adjudged the Player of the Series for consistent all-round performances.
Mohammad Jawed won the Best Batter prize for an explosive innings and vital runs.
Ajay Yadav lifted the Best Bowler prize for match-winning spells throughout the league.
