THE iconic TPDF Lugalo Golf Club in Dar es Salaam set the stage for the unveiling of NCBA Bank Tanzania’s flagship thematic campaign, Numbers That Matter – 'Maisha ni Hesabu', during the 2025 NCBA Golf Series.

The tournament, which attracted 140 golfers alongside business leaders and policymakers, became the perfect platform to demonstrate how the bank’s philosophy of intentional decision-making translates into tangible impact.

Representing NCBA at the launch was Rahim Suleiman, Head of Global Markets, who highlighted how 'Maisha ni Hesabu' is not just a slogan but a principle guiding NCBA’s work.

He explained that every decision in finance, just like every stroke in golf, carries consequences that shape outcomes.

He pointed out that from families planning their future, to businesses seeking growth, to communities working towards sustainability, NCBA is there to ensure that numbers are not just counted, but that they matter.

The tournament's guest of honour, Major General Wilbert Ibuge, applauded NCBA for its role in elevating the sport while driving national progress. He praised the campaign’s focus on empowerment and accountability, noting that its philosophy resonates deeply with Tanzania’s development journey.

He also commended NCBA’s investments in sustainability and inclusion, observing that campaigns like 'Maisha ni Hesabu' are vital in nurturing responsible citizens and resilient communities.

At the heart of the campaign are NCBA’s transformative products. Asset Finance has become a lifeline for individuals and businesses, offering flexible access to vehicles, equipment, and tools critical for growth. Bancassurance integrates insurance with banking, giving customers protection and stability as they pursue opportunities.

Meanwhile, the NCBA Now App continues to expand digital access, enabling thousands of Tanzanians to bank seamlessly, track their accounts in real time, and make smart financial decisions from the palms of their hands.

These offerings are not standalone services but part of a holistic strategy to ensure that progress is measurable and sustainable. NCBA’s pledge to plant 10,000 trees across Tanzania by 2025, including 5,000 already planted along the Mpiji River at Bunju B in Dar es Salaam, is proof that environmental stewardship can also be counted and tracked as a number that truly matters.

The Golf Series, now in its fourth year, provided a vibrant backdrop for this message. More than just a sporting competition, it has become a platform for inclusion, whereby young and female golfers find opportunities to excel, and an occasion for business leaders to connect, exchange ideas, and forge partnerships.

This year’s tournament ended on a high note, with the crowning of three champions. Beyond their trophies, the winners earned the honour of representing Tanzania in the NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale to be held in Kenya.

Their achievement is not only a personal triumph but a moment of national pride, carrying the Tanzanian flag to the regional stage and proving that local talent has what it takes to shine far beyond the country's borders.

Upon the day's conclusion, one message was clear: NCBA is more than a bank. It is a partner in progress, a catalyst for growth, and a driver of sustainable change.

Through its campaign, Numbers That Matter – 'Maisha ni Hesabu', NCBA is proving that ambition aligned with purpose always adds up to impact in Tanzania, in the region, and beyond.
