13 opposition members seek parliamentary seats in Singida

THIRTEEN opposition party members have collected nomination forms from the National Electoral Commission (INEC) to contest parliamentary seats in five of Singida Region’s eight constituencies as of Tuesday.

According to constituency election officials, the candidates in Iramba West, Iramba East, Singida Urban, Manyoni, and Ikungi West represent ACT Wazalendo, CUF, NLD, UMD, NRA, and ADA-TADEA.

In Iramba West, Election Officer Magreth Segu confirmed that the forms were collected by Francis Sanchor (ADA-TADEA), Leonard Marwa (NRA), Pendo Nyakerongote (UMD), and Celine Mbokeki (NLD).

In Iramba East, candidates Veronica Mpuluma (NLD) and Mohamed Shogolah (CUF) have collected forms, according to the Mkalama District Council website and constituency officer Eliah Samata.

In Singida Urban, Mariam Mbiaji (NLD), Amina Seleman (UMD), and Veronica Tyeah (NRA) have picked up forms, confirmed Election Officer Aminiel Mfinanga.

In Manyoni, forms were collected by Anna Mpinga (NRA) and Isingo Msaru (ACT-Wazalendo), while in Ikungi West, Ester Andrea (UMD) and Winfrida Kipandwa (NRA) have submitted their applications.

No candidates have come forward in Ikungi East and Itigi constituencies so far. The Ilongero constituency election officer declined to comment on applicants.
