ACT-Wazalendo Secretary General, Ado Shaibu, has urged party members not to harbor doubts when engaging in politics, emphasizing that the party is fully prepared—100 percent—for the upcoming General Election.
Speaking at a party meeting held in the Ubungo constituency, Dar es Salaam, Ado stressed the importance of resilience despite existing challenges, saying that lacking commitment is equivalent to conceding defeat before the election begins.
“No one should be doubtful, because that would already be a loss. We must enter the election fully prepared,” he said.
He also highlighted the need for women’s participation in political movements, stating, “Any movement that leaves women behind won’t go far.”
In his speech, the Secretary General criticized the conduct of state agencies interfering with freedom of worship, citing the case involving Bishop Gwajima’s church. He said such actions fuel national hatred and division. “Maybe state agents don’t care if the nation fractures, but they must know they are creating hostility against citizens,” he warned.
Regarding election preparations, he urged party members and leaders to continue with voter registration efforts and to strengthen leadership structures at the ward and constituency levels through mobilization activities.
“The party’s position is to contest the election through active engagement, and we will fight by participating,” he concluded.
