AIR Tanzania Co. Ltd (ATCL) has received international acclaim for its outstanding tax compliance during the 2024–2025 financial year, becoming one of the select few African carriers to earn such a distinction from Indian authorities. This recognition underscores the airline's commitment to regulatory excellence and transparency within the global aviation market.

The commendation follows ATCL's exemplary adherence to its tax obligations, particularly the prompt payment of Goods and Services Tax (GST) under its registration number 27AARCA5819K1Z3. Indian authorities lauded Air Tanzania for its substantial contribution to building a strong and resilient nation through its consistent compliance efforts.

In acknowledgment of this achievement, the Government of India, through its Ministry of Finance and the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), presented Air Tanzania with a Certificate of Appreciation.

 The certificate, signed by CBIC Chairman Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, specifically highlights ATCL's role in fostering national strength through its diligent compliance. The award was issued under the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" campaign, a national initiative celebrating India’s progress and its international partnerships.

Commenting on the prestigious recognition, Sarah Reuben, Air Tanzania's Public relations and communication manager, expressed immense pride. “We are proud to receive this honour from the Government of India. 

It reflects our commitment to responsible business conduct and strengthening international partnerships built on trust, compliance, and professionalism,” she stated.

Reuben further elaborated on the significance of the accolade: “This certificate is not just a symbol of compliance, but a reflection of how Air Tanzania upholds integrity in every market we serve.” She emphasized that this milestone sends a clear signal of Air Tanzania’s dedication to international regulatory standards, reinforcing its readiness to operate in highly governed markets. 

The award, she added, reflects the airline’s growing reputation as a compliant, transparent, and trusted carrier in the global aviation space, particularly in its direct operations to Mumbai and other regions with rigorous oversight.
