THE Tanzania Tennis Association (TTA) has expressed confidence in the national team's chances at the upcoming Botswana 2025 Davis Cup Africa Group V tournament, scheduled to take place later this month.

Tanzania will be represented by four players: Abuu Risasi, Ibrahim Kessy, Kanute Alagwa, and Hamis Omari.

The team will be under the guidance of head coach Majuto Majaliwa.

Speaking recently, TTA official Salumu Mvita said preparations for the tournament have been intensified.

"The team, consisting of four players, is currently attending a non-residential training camp at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club (DGC). The camp is progressing well, and we are optimistic that the team will perform strongly in Botswana," Mvita said.

He added that the association is actively seeking sponsors and partners to support the team’s transition to a residential camp ahead of the tournament.

Mvita appealed to tennis enthusiasts and stakeholders to offer both financial and material support to help the team prepare effectively.

The four players were selected from a pool of 14 who participated in a national selection tournament held at DGC at the end of last month.
