PARLIAMENTARY Candidate for Ludewa Constituency, has commended government for impressive implementation of development projects in the district.

He also called for the construction of key road networks to help unlock Ludewa’s economic potential.

Speaking on 22 September at a campaign rally for CCM Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, Kamonga noted that the infrastructure sector had received a total of 180bn/-  through the Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) for critical road projects.

Among these is the Litoni–Lusitu road, which is currently being constructed to concrete standards.

“The people of Ludewa have a request: first, to convey our appreciation to Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan. This road has now been included in the 2025–2030 manifesto.

The people believe that Ludewa’s economy has long been constrained by the incomplete status of this road and the Mkiui–Liganga–Madaba route. They are confident that if given another term, Dr Samia’s administration will complete these projects and bring real transformation,” Kamonga said.

In his response, Dr Nchimbi confirmed that road infrastructure development has been prioritised in the party’s implementation manifesto. He listed several upcoming construction and rehabilitation projects, including:

Mkomang’ombe – Mchuchuma (7 km, concrete standard), Kiwe Bridge, Igugu Bridge (Ruhuhu River) and Mawe Bridge.

Others are Mawengi – Makonde (28 km), Lusitu – Madilu – Lugalala (32 km), Kigasi – Amani (63 km) and Ludewa – Songambele (4.8 km).

Beyond roads, Kamonga praised the government’s investment in public services, citing the construction of seven secondary schools—including Njombe Technical School—four health centres, 22 dispensaries, and five more currently under construction.

The health sector alone has received more than  27.7bn/-.

He also acknowledged the government’s efforts in compensating residents of Liganga with 19bn/-  and providing subsidised fertiliser, which has significantly boosted maize production in the region.
