THE Dar es Salaam Special Zone Police Commander, Jumanne Muliro, has issued a stern warning to a group of worshippers allegedly from the East African Evangelical Lutheran Church (KKAM), located in Ubungo Kibo, who reportedly take to the streets with placards after their worship services.

Commander Muliro stated that the police will not tolerate acts of incitement, unlawful protests, or disturbances that threaten public peace.

He emphasized that while the right to worship is constitutionally protected, all religious activities must comply with existing laws and public order regulations.

"The behavior of this group, ending their services and forcefully taking to the streets, is an offense. They are being strongly warned that if they defy the order, they will face serious confrontation with state authorities," said Commander Muliro.

He further urged all worshippers and the general public to continue with their religious services peacefully, stressing that the police are not against the right to worship, but all services must be conducted within the framework of the law and existing procedures.

"We recognize and respect the right to worship, but we emphasize that all religious activities must operate within legal boundaries," he said.
