PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has called on religious leaders and believers to fully embrace Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools—including radio and television,to expand the reach of the message of salvation.
She made the appeal today during the inauguration of Arise and Shine Church in Kawe, Dar es Salaam today July 5, 2025.
The Head of State highlighted the critical role ICT plays in today’s digital era in connecting faith communities and nurturing spiritual growth beyond traditional church settings.
“Information and Communication Technology provides a powerful platform to share the gospel widely and effectively,” she said
“By leveraging these modern tools, the church can reach more people, especially those in remote areas, and strengthen faith in new and innovative ways.”
She urged all stakeholders to invest in and promote the use of ICT to ensure that the message of hope and salvation reaches every corner of the nation, fostering unity and spiritual development in the digital age.
The former President Dr Jakaya Kikwete noted that the presidency is a demanding and challenging role, requiring one to navigate numerous obstacles and hardships.
He highlighted that encouragement and spiritual support from others are vital sources of strength during tough times.
“Leading a nation is a significant and tough responsibility. Having been in that position, I understand the many difficulties involved, but the prayers and backing from those around you empower you to confront those challenges,” he said.
