THE ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Presidential Candidate, Samia Suluhu Hassan has officially launched her campaign across the Lake Zone, starting in Mwanza Region, covering Misungwi, Sengerema, and Buhongwa (Nyamagana) districts, where she highlighted transformative projects that have reshaped lives and infrastructure under her leadership.
Other regions she plans to visit in the Lake Zone include Shinyanga, Simiyu, Geita, Mara, and Kagera, where she intends to showcase the achievements realized during her tenure.
In the past four years, Mwanza has seen major developments under her administration. Key accomplishments include the completion of the Kigongo-Busisi Bridge, also known as the Magufuli Bridge.
The Butimba water source, benefiting 450,000 residents, and the Lake Victoria water project, serving 86,980 residents of Tinde and Shelui, have also been completed.
Additionally, six ferries on Lake Victoria have been completed, and operational work has commenced. A dedicated ambulance boat for accident victims on the lake and a livestock vaccination initiative have been launched, supported by investments totalling 62 bn/-.
Through these projects, Samia emphasized the tangible impact of her leadership on improving lives, boosting infrastructure, and fostering development across the Lake Zone.
