PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan is expected to officiate the National Heroes Day commemoration tomorrow at the Mnara wa Mashujaa grounds in Mtumba Government City, Dodoma.
Adressing journalists today in Dodoma, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko, said the event honours national heroes who fought for independence, peace, and the country’s development.
“The Heroes Memorial Flame was officially lit at 12:00 midnight today by Dodoma Regional Commissioner Rosemary Senyamule, marking the start of the remembrance period. The flame will be extinguished at the same hour tomorrow night,” he said.
Dr. Biteko added that a ceremonial military parade by the defence and security forces will take place from 9:00 a.m. tomorrow.
He urged citizens to attend in large numbers and called on the media to help educate the public on the history and contributions of national heroes.
