CCM presidential candidate Samia Suluhu Hassan today concluded her three-day campaign tour of Tabora Region with a major rally in Tabora Municipality, before shifting her campaign trail to Kigoma Region.
Samia, who is seeking re-election in the October 29 General Election, has used her visit to Tabora to roll out an extensive development agenda anchored on infrastructure expansion, social services, agriculture, irrigation, and youth empowerment.
Yesterday while in Kaliua District, she pledged to continue construction of health centres in Ukumbi, Siganga, Kashishi, Ugunga and Ichemba wards, as well as dispensaries in Imalaupina, Ushokola, Igombe, Sitini, Mnange, Keza, Ikonongo, Igwisi and Mwahajala. She further promised to upgrade roads in Banyanga, Masudi, Silimu, Misufini, Kisamvu, Machibya 1, Kibonde R, Oysterbay to tarmac level. Farmers in the district will also benefit from irrigation dams at Konane, Igombe, Mnange, Nimbula and Igwisi, while youth will be supported through the Building a Better Tomorrow (BBT) programme.
In Urambo, Samia pledged that, if re-elected, her government will build the Emirates–Mnyonge–Usoke–Urambo–Ukwanga–Igunguli–Milambo road to tarmac level. She also announced plans for 12 new primary and secondary schools, a modern produce market, and irrigation schemes in Uyogo and Izimbali to boost agricultural production.
For Uyui District, Samia promised swift action within her first 100 days in office, including recruitment of 5,000 new health workers and 7,000 teachers nationwide. She unveiled plans for a one-million-litre water tank drawing supply from Lake Victoria to serve five wards—Illolangulu, Kalola, Isila, Dono and Mbama. She further committed to building a bridge across River Loya to ease transport challenges for local communities.
Tabora Municipality is also poised for transformation under CCM’s 2025–2030 manifesto. Dr. Samia promised completion of the regional hospital, new health centres at Itetemia, Misha and Tumbi, and a dispensary at Kapunze.
The education sector will benefit from four new schools, 16 hostels and 46 teachers’ houses. She also pledged the completion of the 202-kilometre Tabora–Ipole–Koga–Mpanda road, rehabilitation and expansion of Tabora Airport, and formalisation of 300 land parcels under local authorities using modern GPS surveying technology.
Samia emphasised that her administration’s pledges are tailored to meet the growing demands of Tabora residents while ensuring rural transformation, job creation and service delivery across Tanzania.
