Tanzanian Yvonne Baldwin wins US$20,000, two AI for Good Innovation Awards 2025

TANZANIAN innovator Yvonne Baldwin has made history by winning two major international awards at the AI for Good Innovation Factory 2025 competition.

It is a United Nations platform that accelerates technology projects for global development.

The award ceremony took place during the ongoing International Information Society Summit in Geneva.

Among 650 innovators worldwide,Yvonne, who is the CEO and Co-Founder of Elevate AI Africa, emerged as the winner of the Women’s Innovation Factory Pitching Competition 2025 with her project MamaMate, which aims to support rural women through health and wellness services powered by AI technology.

In addition to this victory, Yvonne was also declared the overall winner of the AI for Good Innovation Factory 2025, earning a certificate, a trophy, and a prize of  USD 20,000.

These competitions are part of the global AI for Good program managed by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which  seeks to identify, develop, and scale AI projects that offer solutions to sustainable development challenges.
