DAR Black Panthers have maintained their winning ways in the 2025 Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) DC League 2, having secured a three-wicket win over Estim B in Dar es Salaam recently.
It was the fourth successive win for the in-form Dar Black Panthers, turning them into one of the tournament favourites.
The Group A clash that was held at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) venue saw the Khushal Gorasiya-led Estim B notch 128/6 in 20 overs once they went in to bat first.
Unbeaten 50 runs by middle-order batsman Purshotam Gorasiya was by far the most significant effort at the crease for Estim B.
With the exception of skipper Khushal, who garnered 15 runs, and Hitesh Gorasiya, who secured 13 runs, the top order members could not live up to expectations.
Most of the top-order cricketers had brief stays at the crease, one of whom was Naran Varsani who ended two runs short of two digits.
Khushal battled to push Estim B to 23-2 once the opener returned to the pavilion in the third over.
Estim B was reeling at 72 -6 once the top order was all back in the pavilion upon the conclusion of the 15th over.
The middle-order and low-order cricketers were, for that matter, forced to seek to prove their worth and have the squad amass a better score.
Purshotam got his hands on the bat almost halfway through the innings with the side still struggling to reach triple digits.
His excellent knocks helped Estim B put in a much more encouraging score when the team's time at the crease ended.
The cricketer had a solid seventh-wicket stand with Gopal Kanji Bhuva, propelling Estim B to the total. Bhuva proudly chipped in with 19 runs not out.
Paresh Patil turned out to be the performer with the most noticeable showing when Dar Black Panthers fielded.
Patil ended his four-over bowling quota with two wickets, whilst leaking 32 runs.
The cricketer's encouraging bowling showing, marked by the crucial dismissal of Estim B skipper Khushal, ended with the player securing the 8.00 economy rate.
Much as they were presented with a modest target of 129 runs, Dar Black Panthers were forced to knuckle down to the victory, dropping seven wickets.
Mohammad Zaid led the determined chase by the batting squad- having garnered 39 runs.
The top-order batsman propelled Dar Black Panthers to 11 runs short of a triple-digit total upon his dismissal after 13.3 overs.
The batting outfit early on garnered a good start to the chase, with opener Shahazad Ali grabbing 22 runs.
Hilal Mohamed had Dar Black Panthers confidently chasing the opponents' total, blasting 31 runs not out.
The cricketer put up a solid partnership with Sandeep Kumar Punia as Dar Black Panthers coasted to victory. Punia ended with 19 runs not out.
Emmanuel Basilida notched three wickets in his four-over quota and Navin Meghji Hirani garnered two wickets and the 8.00 economy rate in a spirited effort by Estim B to repel Dar Black Panthers' batting attack.
The bowlers' encouraging contributions, unfortunately, did little to frustrate the batting team's chase.
