Miss Tanzania pioneer Hashim Lundenga dies
HASHIM Lundenga, the former organizer of the Miss Tanzania beauty pageant, has passed away this morning, April 19, 2025, at Kitengule Hospital in, Kinondoni , Dar es Salaam.
According to Bosco Majaliwa, a close associate of the late Lundenga, he was rushed to the hospital earlier this morning after his condition worsened, but sadly, he passed away shortly thereafter.
Lundenga had been battling illness for a long time until he was taken to Kitengule Hospital today.
"We are currently arranging to take the body to the mortuary and then return home to Boko to plan the funeral," said Bosco in an interview with a reporter.
Lundenga will be remembered for his long-standing role as the organizer of the Miss Tanzania pageant, a platform that gained national fame and helped Tanzanian beauty queens gain recognition both locally and internationally.
