FARU Sports Foundation has kept on stepping up its efforts to promote beach volleyball in Tanzania after hosting a workshop in Zanzibar last weekend.
The workshop, which began at Kitogani Primary School, is a continuation of the Dar es Salaam-based institution's initiative, termed 'Beach Volleyball Workshop Tour 2025', also held in some parts of Mainland Tanzania.
Kitogani Primary School's physical education teacher, Ramadhani Shabani, who also serves as the school's volleyball team coach, accorded the foundation's coaches a better reception.
The foundation's coaches had the chance to discuss sports' contribution to the pupils' progress in their studies.
They moreover held a workshop for more than three hours, training the youngsters, playing and learning together.
Ramadhani pointed out that his school is well prepared to battle it out in the beach volleyball competition that was expected to be played at Beit el Rass Beach in the Isles the same weekend.
Faru Sports Foundation's coaches met youngsters from Mafunzo, who came from various places in the Isles, at the Beit el Rass Beach.
The occasion was aiming to serve as a build-up to the two-day beach volleyball competition.
It happened to be a valuable opportunity for the coaches to give the youngsters the sport's tactics and other tips, improve cooperation, and prepare the latter for the coming games.
The foundation's coaches had earlier visited Makoba Primary School, serving as a component of the Beach Volleyball Workshop Tour 2025.
They hosted a workshop which aimed at imparting basic beach volleyball skills to the school's pupils.
The program also sought to motivate the pupils to participate in sports and exposed them to the role they can play in improving their lives through sports.
They elaborated on sports' contribution to the juniors' purposeful life, value good morals and foster cooperation.
The institution's coaches further had an audience with various sports leaders in the Isles and shared various means for successfully developing beach volleyball.
Before holding the workshop, the foundation's coaches had a chance to visit a sports ground at the Regeza Mwendo Primary School.
The facility was constructed via the Sports Project for Africa's Development, run in cooperation with a German institute, GIZ, Zanzibar Sports Council, and the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
The Faru Sports Foundation coaches were adamant that sports are a crucial platform for youths' better upbringing and developing the community.
The Zanzibar workshop came hot on the heels of a similar training which took place in Tanga early this month.
The workshop, held at Beach ya Mstari, Mnyanjani, involved participants from various places in Tanga to give them a chance to efficiently participate in and gain from the project.
The two-day workshop, the coaches noted, incorporated beach volleyball training sessions and competitions for various age groups.
They included juniors aged over 17, players below 17 years and primary school kids.
Faru Sports Foundation, according to the coaches, is looking forward to working with domestic volleyball coaches in every region, equipping the latter with knowledge and guidelines for taking charge of the program.
There will, further, be special workshops for the coaches aiming at offering them the right tactics for coaching and supervising the sport's development.
Such a drive, the coaches stated, targets to ensure there are competent, reliable school teachers and volleyball coaches in various centers who would closely follow up the progress of junior volleyballers who have featured in the training to ensure the workshop's sustainability.
Faru Sports Foundation's main motive, the coaches stated, is nurturing youngsters and the rest of the players' talent in beach volleyball.
The institution, moreover, gears towards motivating unity and cooperation in the community and sets up a strong foundation for sports development in the country.
