INEC disqualifies ACT-Wazalendo Presidential Candidate Luhaga Mpina
THE National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disqualified ACT-Wazalendo’s presidential candidate, Luhaga Mpina.
A public statement released today, September 15, 2025, signed by INEC’s Elections Director Ramadhani Kailima, stated that his name was removed following an objection by the Attorney General, Hamza Johari.
“INEC has accepted the objection submitted by Attorney General Hamza Saidi Johari against the nomination of Luhaga Mpina as the presidential candidate for ACT-Wazalendo.
Consequently, Luhaga Mpina’s name has been removed from the list of presidential candidates for the 2025 General Election of the United Republic of Tanzania.”
INEC also received objections from AAFP and NRA parties.
