THE ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party has pledged to address key issues for Hai District residents in Kilimanjaro Region over the next five years, including ending the water shortage problem.
The party’s vice-presidential candidate, Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, made the promise today, September 13, during a small campaign meeting in the district.
Dr. Nchimbi said that over the next five years, CCM is committed to bringing substantial changes to Hai.
"We will resolve the water crisis. The era of waiting for water-borehole trucks is over; this issue will be addressed promptly and decisively. Our goal is for the people of Hai to have reliable access to water,” he said.
He also stated that CCM will focus on improving roads to tarmac and gravel standards and providing electricity to all wards in the district.
Dr. Nchimbi added that an industrial park will be built in Hai, given that residents are mainly farmers and livestock keepers.
He emphasized that over the next five years, CCM is determined to deliver development to the people.
Additionally, the government will continue supplying subsidized seeds, fund extension officers, maintain livestock dips, and construct water reservoirs for animals.
Hai’s newly elected Member of Parliament, Saashisha Mafue, said CCM in Hai is fully organized to ensure the party’s presidential candidate emerges victorious with overwhelming votes.
