MWANZA Regional Commissioner Said Mtanda, has criticized some government officials who claim that citizens' grievances have been resolved, stating that such remarks are false—citizens’ issues never completely end but can only be reduced.

He made the remarks yesterday during the swearing-in ceremony of the new District Commissioner of Magu, Jubilete Lauwo—appointed by President Samia Suluhu Hassan on June 23, 2025.

Mtanda emphasized that leaders have a major responsibility to address public concerns, including land disputes and conflicts among leaders.

“Citizens’ grievances are extremely important. These issues don’t end, they reduce. Anyone who claims that citizens’ complaints have ended is lying. Once you solve one issue, another will arise. Land conflicts can’t be eliminated but can be controlled and minimized. A capable leader is one who manages conflicts and addresses the concerns of their people,” he saiad.

The newly appointed District Commissioner of Magu, Jubilete  Lauwo, thanked President Samia Suluhu Hassan for trusting her from the role of Regional Administrative Secretary, and pledged to implement the guidance of RC Mtanda.
